CALL TO CONFESSION (Leader): Turning around is an image we often use for repentance. But
when we cling to the past to preserve and conserve yesterday’s blessing we impede God’s
creativity – God’s renewing grace in our lives. This morning, even as we celebrate the past, let
us confess our sin and find the faith to embrace the future with enthusiastic joy and love.
Silent Prayer of Individual Confessions (for 2-3 minutes…)
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (All): Living Christ, who is with us by the power of the Holy Spirit,
we confess that we often ignore Your presence. We live as if You were centuries removed from
us rather than a trusted companion who desires our health and well-being. We act as if
confession weakens our character rather than blots out our guilt. Savior, hear our prayer.
Rescue us from all that weighs us down and prevents us from living the abundant life You
promised. Amen.
