aBook Name: Atomic Habits

Author: James Clear

A great book
on transforming your life
by altering your behaviours
The book is chock-full of useful tips and illustrations showing how modest changes may have a
tremendous impact.
Book is divided into 4 parts:
Part 1, The Fundamentals of Habits; lays out the basics of habit formation, from the science
behind why habits work to the psychology of habit formation.
Part 2, Habit development; This part of the book focuses on how to make habit formation
easier by using four laws.
Part 3, Breaking Bad Habits; identifying triggers to developing systems to help you avoid bad
habits.
Part 4, Creating Habits That Stick; from using reinforcement to developing a success plan.
Discusses how to stay motivated and assess progress.
The section of "Atomic Habits" when the author addresses the idea of "identity-based
habits" is one of my favourites. Clear makes the case that, rather than concentrating on the result
you want to get, concentrate on the kind of person you want to become, that’s how we alter our
attitudes and behaviours.
Overall, this is a fantastic resource and I strongly recommend to anyone looking to improve
their life by developing better habits.
