THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

On the first Pentecost the Holy Spirit filled every one of the disciples and followers of Jesus. No one was
left out. Everyone received the Spirit because everyone was called to carry out the ministry of Jesus. The
Holy Spirit gave the disciples the ability to speak in other languages in order that they could
communicate the gospel. The disciples were able to share the good news of Jesus with the gathered
people. People heard the gospel in their own language and many of them responded the words of the
disciples and became members of the growing Christian community.

Wala man tayong katulad na spiritual experience o hindi pa man nakapagspeak in toungues, pero lahat
We receive the
Spirit as a gift from God at the time of our baptism. The Holy Spirit is a part of us for the same reason
that the disciples and followers of Jesus first received the Spirit.
Through our words and deeds the power of the Holy Spirit touches the lives of the people around us and
transforms their lives by giving them the gift of faith.

Prayer:

Through your Spirit, give us the faith, courage and power to accomplish the tasks you have set before us.
Amen.
