Yr level: Code/ Title: of Learning)
1. Prof. Gene James conducted a test on his 15 students in class twice with one-day intervals
Physics. The test given after one week is exactly the same test during the first time it was
conducted. Scores below were gathered in the 1st test (FT) and 2nd test (ST). Using the
test-retest method, is the test reliable? Show the complete solution using the Pearson r and
Spearman rho formula.

ANALYSIS: The reliability coefficient using the Pearson r = 0.4 and Spearman r = 0.4,means that it has a
very low reliability. The scores of 15 students conducted a class in Physics twice with one-day
intervals are very inconsistent. Hence, using the test=retest is not reliable and it needs revision.
2. Using the same scores in the First Test (FT), solve the value of KR21. Interpret the result. Solve also the
value of KR20 of the Second Test (ST) result.

Interpretation
The reliability coefficient using KR-21 formula is 1.05 which means that the test has an
excellent reliability. Meaning, the test is excellent for a classroom test.

that it has a very high reliability or excellent reliability.
