EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Shree Mahuva Pradesh Khand Udyog Mandli Ltd. (Here in after will be termed as the Mahuva
Sugar) is a Co-operative Society, which was registered in 1974, under the Gujarat State Co-operative
Act, 1961. Factory Registration No. is SE – 29. Mahuva Sugar factory has been established in
November 1980, while the Distillery plant was established in December 2004. Mahuva Sugar factory
is located at village Bamania, Tal. Mahuva on the State Highway No. 165. Surrounding area of
Mahuva Sugar factory is foot hills of Dang’s forest. Factory is connected with Bardoli (25 kms.) and
Surat (60 kms).
Mahuva Sugar factory is having valid consent no. AWH – 68569 valid up to 31.10.2019 for
manufacturing sugar 15000 MTPM and molasses based distillery plant of capacity 35 KLPD. Now
project proponent proposes to increase capacity of sugar and distillery plants, which details are
mentioned in following table.
Proposed project activities is fall under Category 5(g) –Molasses based distillery ≤ 100 KLPD and
5(j) – sugar plant ≥ 5000 TCD cane crushing category “B” as per Environment Impact Assessment
Notification Published on 13.6.2019. Hence EC will be obtained from SEIAA, Gandhinagar.

• Domestic : Septic tank/soak pit. STP of capacity 50 KLD will
be proposed as per CTE condition.
• Industrial : Effluent from sugar plant is being treated in ETP
(ii) Treatment of wastewater while effluent from distillery is being treated in MEE. The same
facilities will be utilized after expansion.
• Spent Wash : Concentrated stream of SW will be utilized at
Bio-composting.
• Distillery Plant : Zero Liquid discharge
