MY DAILY ROUTINE

Here are some examples of things you can say about your daily routine:

I wake up at … (what time?) and I get up at … (what time?)

Then, I go to bathroom and I have/take a shower, wash my face, brush my teeth, comb my
hair…

I usually have breakfast at … (what time?) and I have/eat/drink … (what?) for breakfast but some days
I eat …(what?) sandwich, toast, bread, butter, jam, cheese, eggs, olives, cornflakes cereals,
fruit juice, a cup of coffee, tea, milk, etc.

After breakfast, t-shirt, jeans, shorts, skirt, dress,


trainers, etc.
I get dressed; I usually wear … (what?) at school

I go to school at … (what time?), … (how?). by bus, car, taxi, underground, train, bike, on
foot

The classes/lessons start at … (what time?)

I have lunch … (where?), I eat … (what?)


in a restaurant, in the cafeteria, in canteen/
soup, hamburgers, some meat, salad, potatoes,
After school, I … (do what?) pizza, pasta, fish, rice, etc.

I get home at … (what time?), and I … (do what?)

I have dinner at … (what time?), and I ate … (what?)


rest a bit, read something, watch TV, do exercise,
After dinner, I … (do what?) do my homework, go shopping, make the dinner,
have a bath, relax, surf the internet, play computer
I go to sleep at … (what time?) games, etc.

❖ Use expressions and adverbs of frequency; always, generally, usually, sometimes, never,
ever day, once, twice, etc. and time words; after, then, etc.

EXERCISE 2. Practise talking about your daily routine. After you study yourself for 5 minutes, work with a
friend and tell each other about your daily routines.

AT HOME You can practise talking about your daily routine in front of a
mirror or you can record yourself and listen to/watch the recording.
