He published the works of Jonathan Edwards (the younger) and compiled and published the sixteen sermons of his great, great grandfather, Jonathan Edwards. One of the most prominent advocates of the higher education of women in the Presbyterian church, Edwards founded Wilson College, which became the leading Presbyterian colle ge for women.
