Log on to Medtronic VPE using Adaptive Authentication

Expectations
After you’ve registered, each NEW computer connecting to the Medtronic network (for the 1 st time)
will require you to enter your Medtronic credentials (username and password) as well as answer one
of your security questions.

There will be no change in your remote access capabilities. Medtronic is upgrading the security of
signing into the Medtronic network by replacing SecurID tokens.

Below are a couple of tricks to assist with updating the VPE client upgrade on your computer.

 Make sure you have Local Administrative Access on your computer. If you need
assistance, please contact your Local IT Support Center.
 Disable any Internet Pop-Up Blockers: In Internet Explorer (IE), go to Tools > Settings >
Privacy > Uncheck Turn on Pop-up Blocker.

1. Select a computer (laptop or desktop) that has access to the internet.

2. Close all Internet Browsers before you begin.
3. Go to https://mdtvpe.medtronic.com
4. Log in with your Medtronic network credentials (username and password).
5. Click Sign In.

6. Answer the security question displayed (the picture below is just an example).
7. Would you like us to remember this computer?
a. If you select Yes, consecutive logons with the same computer will only prompt you for your
Medtronic credentials (username and password).
(Useful for your primary non-Medtronic work computer)

b. If you select No, you’ll be asked to provide and enter both your Medtronic credentials
(username and password) and answer one of your selected security questions the next
time you use the same device.
(Useful for publically shared computers)

8. Click Continue.
9. You may now begin using Medtronic VPE as you are accustomed to.
