Collaboration with
Stormboard
Stormboard is the data-first
collaborative workflow platform that
turns unstructured interactions into
data-rich collaborative workspaces,
creating new structured and
actionable data from normal human
collaboration, whether in-person or
across distance.
Importance of Data-First Collaboration to the
Bottom-Line
There is little argument that data-driven organizations offer numerous advantages over
traditional businesses. The promise is that data becomes a strategic asset that can inform
decision-making processes and drive actionable results.
Organizations produce reams of business and operational data. While being overrun with
data, businesses have been forced by competitive pressures to leverage the “data overrun”
to inform every decision, interaction, and process thereby fueling business growth.
Sounds Easy?
Many companies attacked this challenge by starting with sporadic deployments or initiating
enterprise-wide IIT data warehousing projects that often take years to bear fruit. Both
approaches lead to little lifetime value and certainly not immediate value.
This is a Storm —
what we call your
digital workspace!
Competitors may speak of collaboration but that often translates directly to just
‘presentation.’ On the contrary, Stormboard enables mature visual collaboration through
infinite, scalable Storms permitting businesses to create fresh, actionable data in real-time.
Stormboard facilitates integration with various third-party platforms such as Google Drive,
Microsoft Office 365, Jira, Slack, Zapier, and more …
Each data element interacts directly with other elements, thereby creating a “living” data
environment and enhancing data lifecycle management and outcomes.
Magnetic sections automatically organize all sticky notes in the section neatly in a grid
formation, optionally sorted by a value you choose.
Count the number of sticky notes, votes, or other data in a specific section.
Agile integration sections allow you to Integrate an existing backlog into a template section.
Changes made in Stormboard are reflected in your Jira, Rally, and Azure DevOps instances
— and vice-versa.
The header color, background color, and title of each section can easily be customized.
You can keep your section type blank or change it to a Matrix, Shape, Spreadsheet, Venn
Diagram, Calendar, or PI Planning backlog.
Custom Template Guides can help make things easier, support processes when there is no
facilitator, and make sure teams are operating the same way across the whole company.

The platform further maintains project and meeting momentum by creating editable
stakeholder-ready reports at the click of a button. Our reporting feature allows you to
compile all work, decisions, assigned tasks, and actions from your meeting instantly and
export it into a professional report that can be collaboratively edited and then shared with
participants, management, or other key stakeholders. Exported documents can be iterated
on, referred back to, and easily updated as a project progresses thanks to Stormboard’s
native integrations with popular workspaces such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive.

OOTB integrations are available for Jira, Rally and Azure DevOps. Each source system is
synced with Stormboard on a bi-directional basis: change a field in Rally, for example, and
immediately see the change in Stormboard (and vise-versa). Enjoy the simple drag-and-drop
capabilities and the ability to visualize dependencies.

This innovative and unique feature allows Storms to become a central hub for collaboration,
day-to-day task management, and ideation activities — regardless of the source tools — all
without the need for costly development or API Management. Allowing different applications
to publish data directly into Storms, provides the ability to reference other data objects
including projects, applications, forms, surveys, calendars, fully functional maps, and GIFs …
or anything else, without the need to switch tabs or navigate between apps. This represents
the next generation of workflow optimization.
Basically, most apps that allow you to copy an embed link or code (iFrame or otherwise) can
be embedded into a Storm now — think of everything from a custom form or social media
post to different video players and presentation software.

Idea & data visual grouping provides additional clarity and context
without the need for synchronous sessions by identifying and organizing
conceptual groups and relationships between data points.
Idea Grouping is a fun, visual, dynamic way to organize, categorize, and identify ideas within a
virtual workspace using animated bubbles. Collaborations become more fruitful and efficient
by grouping related ideas together into clearly defined categories, themes, or concepts.
The feature enables teams to extract the most value from each idea and recognize patterns
and trends that might otherwise be overlooked. Idea Grouping can be used as a standalone
feature on an unlimited blank canvas or as the ideal complement to our organized smart
sections and exports, which will result in the addition of a completely separated dimension to
your Storms. Ideas can also be part of an output on stakeholder reports.

Pure image sticky notes allow the addition of graphics, emojis, border-
free images, photos, charts, graphs, or any type of image directly onto the
workspace within your Storm.
This capability removes the confines of keeping objects within a defined border, resulting in
a whole new level of freedom, depth, and context, and enabling a level of in-Storm flexibility
unlike anything in the market. Images can now be moved or resized, and placed optimally in
the Storm, giving every workspace more context and giving every Storm, project, idea, chart,
graph, or report a cleaner, more contextual look.
