Explain the difference in meaning between these vocabulary items.

1.Star- is an actor or actress who is famous for their starring, or leading, roles in
movies.

Main/leading actor- any actor plays the role of the protagonist of a film, television
show or play.

2. A bit part-is a small and unimportant role for an actor in a film or play.

Walk-on part- a small part in a play or theatrical entertainment, esp one without
any lines.

3. Character part- a lesser role in a drama, but one where the actor is called upon
to display particular distinctive traits of character.

Cameo role- is a brief appearance of a well-known person in a work of the performing


arts.

4. Audution- an interview for a role or job as a singer, actor, dancer, or musician,


consisting of a practical demonstration of the candidate's suitability and skill.

Casting- is a pre-production process that involves choosing actors to fill the roles in a
particular TV show, movie, commercial, or play.

5. A Stand-In is a person who takes the place of a principal actor for rehearsals,
camera blocking, or lighting setups and are part of the second team.

A Double-is a person who substitutes another actor such that the person's face is
not shown.

A Stunt person- a person who doubles for an actor during the filming of stunts
and dangerous scenes.
