The fail-safe protection of V40 link is set at the airborne end. V40 default factory setting:

close the fail-safe protection. If the fail-safe protection is needed, please operate as follows.

The SBUS port at the ground end must be connected to the receiver normally before setting

the fail-safe protection.

1. Set fail-safe protection data

After the successful connection of the airborne unit and the ground unit, long press the

set key on the airborne unit for about 3 seconds.

When the RX, TX, S1, S2 and S3 indicators all ON, release the set key, it enters the setting

mode.
33
At this time, short press the set key to switch on or off the fail-safe protection.

Short press the set key, RX, TX flashing means write fail-safe protection, all OFF means

close fail-safe protection.

After finishing the setting, long press the set key for 3 seconds, when the RX, TX, S1, S2

and S3 indicators are all ON, release the set key, the fail=safe protection mode has been

exited.

When the fail-safe protection is written, the SBUS1 or S-BUS2 signals being transmitted

will be stored in the airborne unit as the fail-safe protection value, and the data will not

be lost after power-off. Please check whether the fail-safe protection data is written

successfully by GCS or servo.

2. Trigger Fail Safe Value

If the airborne unit does not receive SBUS data from the ground unit for 3 seconds, the

airborne unit will keep outputting the Fail safe value written before, and the S1, S2, and S3

signal lights will flash until it receives SBUS data from the ground.

3. Turn off Fail Safe Value

When the Work indicator at the airborne unit is continuously ON, long press the set

button at the airborne unit(about 3S).

When all lights ON, it means it has entered the fail-safe protection data setting mode, and

then release the SET button.

34
After entering, short press SET button to switch write fail-safe protection data or turn

off fail-safe protection.

RX, TX, S1, S2, S3 all indicators OFF means turn off failsafe protection, then continue to

long press SET button until RX, TX, S1, S2, S3 all indicators ON, that means turn off

fail-safe protection data.

After the fail-safe protection function is turned off, if the data link at the airborne end

does not receive the S-BUS signal from the ground unit for a long time, it will keep the last

data output. Please check whether the setting is successful by GCS or servo.

4. Reset fail-safe data

When resetting the S-BUS fail-safe protection data is needed, there is remote control

SBUS data transmission at the ground end, enter the fail-safe protection setting mode.

First, short press the SET button to cancel the previously set fail-safe protection data,

then short press the SET button.

When RX and TX indicators flash, it indicates successful setting

5.18 Low Power Alarm

V40 ground unit, with the built-in battery, can last for 10 hours working.

When the percentage of power icon on the display is to zero, V40 will make a "di - di" alarm.

After the alarm, V40 can be used when charging.

If it is not convenient to charge in the field, V40 supports external battery power supply,
35
XT30 interface, 12V 3S battery for power supply..

5.19 Charging the Ground Unit

V40 has a built-in 6800mAH Li-ion battery, which enables V40 to work about 10H at full

load. If the power indicator shows low battery, please stop flying and charge the V40 in

time.

1. Insert the standard adapter of the ground unit into the 220V socket, and plug the adapter

output end into the V40 battery charging port for charging (adapter output :12.6V 2A)

2. When the adapter indicator changes from red to green, it indicates the battery is fully

charged. The user can also check the charging status according to the power indicator on

the V40 display

Note:

 Please use the factory standard adapter for charging, do not use other types of
non-conforming charger charging.
 To extend the working time, external battery can be connected to increase the battery
life

6. Common Questions

01 The ground unit cannot communicate with the airborne unit or communication
breaks.

If more than 2 devices are working at the same time, which causes the interference. Pls

36
modify the secret key and frequency.

02 Cannot pull streaming video in Video Player

Please confirm first whether the IP address of the receiver computer is in the same network

segment as the network camera

03 Unable to get the IPC video after connecting to the ground unit by WIFI

Check whether the WiFi card's IPv4 static address is in the same network segment as V40

and IPC

04 Serial port cannot communicate

A. Note that there are three types of the serial port level signals. When using, pls connect
the corresponding level signals.

B. If using TCP Client, it is necessary to set the address and port number of the

corresponding TCP Server

05 Video streaming is seriously stuck

Use decoding software that supports hardware decoding, such as QGC4.0,

MissionPlanner-1.3.70, etc.

06 Serious packet loss and high latency of video transmission

A. Check whether the antennas are properly connected

B. Check whether the module version is consistent

C. Check whether the wireless setting parameters are consistent

37
