Section 1 Release Notes

Introduction
This document represents the release notes for the Industrial IT™, 800xA - System,
800xA for Harmony, System Version 5.0 SP1 software.
This document provides a brief overview on functionality. It lists the problems that
existed in the previous version or service pack that were fixed and corrected in this
release. It also enumerates known problems encountered in the final testing of this
product release and identifies workarounds that help overcome the problem. The
document contains additional notes that may be valuable to customers and service
personnel working with the product. It replaces the existing release notes for the
prior release and is included on the product CD.
Fixed and Known Problems are divided into functional categories:
• Installation.
• Administration.
• Configuration.
• Operational.
• Instruction Manual Changes.
• Miscellaneous.

Functionality Changes
• Enhanced Operator Action Event Format. Tuning operations performed
using the Block Details utility may now be logged to the historical event log
using an enhanced format. The enhanced format provides additional
information on the item that was changed, how it was changed, and the user
that made the change. The use of the enhanced format is optional and may be
configured via a setting on the Configuration aspect of the Harmony Server

object. Refer to the Industrial IT, 800xA - System, 800xA for Harmony,
Configuration (3BUA000157Rxxxx) instruction for more information.
• Increased Number of Connectivity and Harmony Configuration Servers.
The number of Connectivity and Harmony Configuration Servers has increased
to support up to eight nonredundant or eight redundant. These Servers are
supported by either a single Harmony Configuration Server or up to four
Harmony Configuration Servers.
• Harmony Executive Service. This is an 800xA service that controls
underlying 800xA for Harmony services. Once configured, it requires no user
interaction. Refer to the Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Post Installation
(3BUA000156Rxxxx) for details on configuration.

Composer
Composer engineering workstation supports configuring and editing the project tag
database and associated lists for 800xA for Harmony (tag database, engineering
units, alarm comments, and logic state descriptors). These Composer based files are
directly usable in 800xA for Harmony for the 800xA System. The following can be
configured in the Composer project: area, unit, and equipment structures (these will
be maintained in the Functional Structure of 800xA System). Other Composer
console data such as Historian servers, group and trend displays are not usable in
800xA for Harmony for the 800xA System.
It is recommended that Composer be installed on a separate workstation.
