HiT7300 Node Upgrade Procedure.

Step 1

Connect Laptop (PC) to specified node.

 Laptop with LAN connection and able to give remote access via Wi fi/3G/… while connected
via LAN cable to NE.
 Able to install a new java version as a back-up if experiencing issues to connect to NE.
 hiT7300 software will upload automatically from NE to laptop.

NO WORK TO COMMENCE IF LAPTOP (PC) NOT CONNECTED TO SPECIFIED NODE

 Once PC is connected, update JAVA if needed and NE will upload craft from NE to laptop.
 Check and verify NE is in proper working status.
Step 2

 On site engineer to do a local back-up of Node onto computer. Back-up will be needed if a
rollback is needed.
Step 3

 Maintenance window can start.


 PSE activates NCF on node.
 While NCF is been activated, Engineer on site does all the required work on site based on
scope as written on the commissioning report (remove existing modules/insert new
modules/connect required fiber tail point-to-point)
Step 4

 On site engineer wait for PSE to provide next steps


 PSE checks and validates if the site is up (if needed, minor changes may be requested from
PSE)
Step 5

 PSE checks and verifies Optical Power is OK.


 If all good, PSE startup the Link, point-to-point.
 PSE will advise site engineer once the link is up and advise if there are no major alarms.
Step 6

 Site engineer to contact NOC, request NOC to check node and verify ‘all’s good or not.’
 If all’s good, NOC will be asked to close the Maintenance Window in operation.
