In this essay I will be discussing whether or not same-sex marriage is a right.

I will be
looking at the arguments for and against same-sex marriage, and how they relate to
the topic of human rights. The first argument that I will be looking at is the religious
argument. This states that same-sex marriage goes against God's plan for humanity,
and as such it is wrong. The second argument is based on civil rights. This states that
if two people are in love then why should the government get involved, they should
be allowed to marry no matter what their sexuality may be. The third argument is
based on equality and freedom of choice. It says that if two people love each other
then who cares what sex they are, they can marry anyway they want to regardless of
their sexuality. Finally there is an economic argument which says that allowing gay
marriages would cost too much money due to having to pay for all the extra
ceremonies etc.. I also believe that allowing gay marriages would go against the rights
of all the people that don't agree with it. It would also cost too much money to pay for
all the extra ceremonies etc.. In conclusion I believe that same-sex marriage is a right.

"The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: "Everyone is entitled to all the
rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration without distinction, exception or
discrimination" (Article 2). This means that everyone has a right to marry whoever
they want regardless of their sexuality. This includes gay people as well as straight
people". The first argument against same-sex marriage is based on religious beliefs.
This goes against God's plan for humanity because he has said in his word that
marriage is between a man and a woman only, not two men or two women. He has
also said in his word that sex should only be had between one man and one woman
who are married, not by anyone else such as two single people who love each other
but are not married yet". The second argument based on civil rights is about equality
and freedom of choice. It says if two people love each other then why should the
government get involved, they should be allowed to marry no matter what their
sexuality may be". The third argument based on equality and freedom of choice goes
like this: "If two people love each other then why should we care what sex they are?
They can marry anyway they want regardless.

In conclusion, I believe that allowing gay marriages would go against God's plan for
humanity, as it goes against what he has said about marriage being between a man and
a woman only. It also goes against his plan because it makes one set of people feel
unequal to the other, and it is unfair.
