How do I obtain an Autodesk Training Function We can now utilize an Autodesk training licence.
Licence? This benefit allows Arcadis staff to undertake
Autodesk product training without the need to
incur license usage costs that would normally be
applied via the daily token rate.

Important to know before using this account

 In agreement with Autodesk, Arcadis has the option to try or to learn new Autodesk softwares or new versions
of a software at no cost.
 The only limitation is that Arcadis never uses these licenses for commercial purposes, like projects.
 Therefore, Autodesk delivered a dedicated license server with training licenses only.
 There is no limitation in usage of these licenses.
 To prevent mistakes, Arcadis created a special Training License that everyone can use.
How do I check which license I have access
to?
1. Navigate to the (1) search icon
within the taskbar;
2. Type 'cmd' in the search field;
3. Followed by starting the (3)
Command Prompt;
4. Once the command prompt is
open paste the below code at the
prompt (4) and click enter

echo %ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE%

this will then return results (5) like

below; these are the commercial
license servers we use for our
Autodesk products.

a) Now close the ‘Command

Prompt’ by either typing
‘EXIT’ or click the ‘x’ icon in
the top right corner to close
the open window.

Installing the Training License

The first time you want to use the training
licence you will need to go to the Arcadis
Application Store and search (6) for ‘Autodesk
Environment Variables - Training’

Click on the app (7) and then select install, this

will now hand over to the ‘Software Centre’

In the Software Center if not already showing
you may need to search for the application and
click install if required (8).

This will then immediately apply the training

license and you will be presented with the
following screen once installed.

To check if the license has been applied, please

open a NEW Command Prompt as described at
‘how do I check which license I have access to’
and again copy paste the string of text and
press enter (9). You will then notice that the
licence server details have changed (10).

Now close the ‘Command Prompt’ by either
typing ‘EXIT’ or click the ‘x’ in the top right
corner to close the open window.

You now have access to all Autodesk products

without activating the daily chargeback rate.

If interested in knowing the daily chargeback

rate for any Autodesk product, please use this
link Autodesk Platform Yammer pages and on
the right-hand side is a link named ‘Autodesk
Tokens’ with the latest charges.

Once you have finished your training and

return to project work YOU MUST reset the
licence back to the commercial licence. To do
this go back to the ‘Software Center’ and look
for ‘Autodesk Environment Variables -
Training’
Now you can click ‘Uninstall’ (11).

For all future uses open the Software Center,

locate the for ‘Autodesk Environment
Variables - Training’ app and click on ‘Install’
again (12).

Again, once finished using the training licences

you will need to click uninstall as explained at
point (11).

If, however you forget to uninstall we have a

safeguard in-place to relinquish a training
licence after use, which is automated to run
after 12 hours after activation. The licence will
automatically default back to the commercial
licence we have available.

If you have any issues using the application for the Autodesk training licence, please raise an incident with the IT Global Service Desk
and one of the Autodesk Platform Specialist will be notified.
