1899 is realistically unrealistic

Warning! Not for spoilers. This film will make you to question about this reality and even your
existence! The only original Sci-fi film of Netflix in this year broke the internet. Some of you may already
noticed the argumentations on social medias. If you are a fan of making own theories about a film, what
are you waiting for? Fully charge your brain and go watch 1899 today!

The concepts and plot of this film is very similar to Dark series. Guess what? Director is also the
same. Baran bo Odar is the director of both 1899 and Dark series. Opening of 1899 film starts with an
unnamed massive luxury ship destining to New York from Europe. Whilst it is also the 30th anniversary
date of Prometheus ship mysteriously went missing. No any single pieces, fragments or clues of the
incident of the ship were found in the ocean. Prometheus ship was mostly like a myth. In 1899 year,
Maura Franklin, the neuron scientist, the medical doctor was on that unnamed ship to New York. She is
a protagonist, a main character who has experiencing memory loss. She only remembered 3 things. First
is that she has received a letter from her brother. Secondly to find him. Third is a memory of reminder
that it is very important to arrive New York. This film starts with many questions to us. Adrenalines to
theory geeks.

After two days of travel in the ocean, the ship starts to encounter impossible and unrealistic
stuffs. Prometheus appeared in front of their ship but that was the most possible and realistic thing for
them. When Maura Franklin and the captain observed the long abandoned Prometheus ship, they found
a sheet of the Prometheus passengers list filled with every passenger’s name from the ship that Maura
Franklin ride for two days. They found no survivors but this. In next a few hours on ship, passengers start
dying one by one. Maura Franklin who is also a medic checked on corpses but there is no certain or
possible cause of death. She wasn’t sure if any of this is real. She only got one clue for everything
happening. It is the logo or the symbol of the triangle with one line crossed. It was at everywhere on the
both unnamed ship and Prometheus. These all scenarios are everything from trailer or the intro of the
film. No spoiler is revealed and you may be questioning how this is called Sci-fi film according to the
plot. Well, that answer will be the real spoiler for now.

The camera angles, digital sound layering, and the acting of main lead Emily Beecham just pull
all the audience on the ship to experience along with them. 1899’s sound layering is unique and too
precise for a Sci-Fi film. It’s very obvious that they used big budget on this. Even though 1899 is not a
horror film, some scenes of Maura Franklin dealing with things include thrilling and horrifying human
vocalized background sound music. Yes, 70% of background theme music are human vocalized. Trust
me, it was like a horror at the same time. Most of the audience won’t know or can’t predict a thing of
what will happen next while watching 1899. But people who already knew the concept of Dark series
may be able to predict. This kind of concept is the most impressive for me in 1899. Would you like to tell
me it? I am afraid that it will be a spoiler. So here is a little hint about that. 1899 is based on the theories
of brain mechanism, time loop, and the simulation world which also exist in real life. Even though those
theories exist in our outside real world, the things u may encounter in 1899 are not just possible or
possibly impossible.
 The only minor drawback of 1899 is that some scenes are unnecessarily too long. Especially
scenes of conversation between the side characters. This may be necessary for character development
but in my opinion some are very out of the linear story. Otherwise I recommend to pay fully attention to
the side character scenes because there are many easter eggs that I even couldn’t found completely.

Surely, Certainly, 1899 is worth watching. I suggest you to watch it alone. You will experience
the atmosphere that you never used to have before. Also take a break after watching because of the
feeling you will be left over by the ending.
