Ways of speaking

We can use the following verbs to describe ways of speaking:

Whisper: To talk very quietly

Shout: To talk very loudly

Chat: To talk in an informal/casual way

Stutter: To have an impediment or an audible problem when speaking

Mumble: To fail to enunciate clearly

Grumble: To complain quietly

Mutter: To say something quietly on purpose, so that it is difficult for the listener to
hear/understand

Murmur: To speak softly or quietly; especially when many people are talking
