Introduction

Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods deals with varying disciplines to study and
clarify either of the two methods or combined methods could be possible. Although there are
some books and related articles about the two methods could be contradictory to combine due
to conflicts of ideas to measure and quantify.
Qualitative and quantitative research method are often two words with contrasting effects as
to uses and process. Qualitative research represents small/fewer respondents for factual
information as to population or representative among the customs and norms of culture and
tradition within the area that limit the broader spectrum of representatives. The result is
assessed through the researchers’ own experiences. In general, affirmation of data collection
must be based on circumstances of the respondents having similar orientation of belief,
customs, and norms to suit the research. Customs, traditions, and beliefs limit within the
community that describe transparency of manageable respondents. It deals with notion
confirming how certain community inherit ideals of tribes and ethnicity on that note, it led
towards behavior of the group that must be follow to progress within the community.
Hence, Quantitative research method uses questions and questionnaires to gather quantifiable
data and perform statistical analysis to derive meaningful research questions. Elements and
characteristics signify numerous variables that enables the respondents gives their thoughts,
notion, and ideas as to what problem or situation does these survey questionnaires embarked.
Nevertheless, quantifying remarks from respondents may result to biased if a certain
respondent gives views of the statement that imparts substantive issues on their part.
Quantitative or Qualitative type of research method address different form of messages that
convey towards to the research that you want to do. Either of the two gives accuracy results
base on the type of study. But, how will these two-research method fuse in one? Is there a way
that both of this method join? What will be the instances that may result? Is it really possible to
join the two-research method in one?
Related articles give exact ideas to be covered with quantitative research about theories and
assumptions, while qualitative express ideas, concepts, and experiences. Let these sample
definitions of the two methods give us clarity in dealing with their differences and uniqueness
as to what research methodology is concerned.
Identifying Quantitative and Qualitative Research Method
Quantitative Research Method
 Is expressed in numbers and graphs. It is used to confirm theories and assumptions.
These types of research can be used to established generalizable facts about topic.

Qualitative Research Method

 Expressed in words. It is used to understand concepts, thoughts, or experiences. This
type of research method enables you to gather in-depth insights on topics that are not
well understandable.

Defining the comparison between two methodological approaches gives vague ideas that
address identifying thought to measure the quality and quantity of approaches. Elements that
need to address, process, and adheres to connectivity towards the said type of research.
The quantitative Research Method is a research methodology that uses questions and
questionnaires to gather quantifiable data and perform statistical analysis to derive meaningful
research conclusions as to methods and characteristics. Methods and characteristics signify the
three (3) elements which are concerned with the quantitative method namely; Questions,
Distributions, and Statistical analysis. These three (3) elements conveyed details fully
understand as to uses and gathering information. Questions that need surveys and polls within
the specific area coverage. Distribution as to the mode of gathering responses to questions.
Lastly, Statistical analysis is an element that uses a wide range of so-called data analyses.
Quantitative depend on numerical data, records, and as well as behavioral observation
depending on the research study. Gives intersection, collection, and engaging manners of
variables to an example of interpreting how the attendance of students from yesterday as of
today,' if it is increasing or decreasing. But it sets clear limitations as to the subjective manner,
principles, and ideas governing the study. Like if the manner of participants already know that
they are being observed, it gives a biased result to the study. The quantitative research method
adheres as the best tool to identify the problem or phenomenon, how widespread it is, and
how it is changing over time.
Contrary to quantitative studies which are concerned with generalizable facts, data collection,
and numbers. Qualitative studies are a research methodology where quality or opinion-based
research is conducted to derive research conclusions. The objective of this research method is
to keep probing the respondents based on the previous answer under the complete discretion
of the interviewer. Qualitative research uses fewer samples to get the accuracy of the details
needed. Upon gathering interviews, it uses the conversational method for relevant and factual
information. This type of research is often conversational rather than being quantifiable
through empirical research. Measurements endure as to the quality, context-dependent, group
focus such as ethnicity, culture, and tradition. It also processes observation through interviews
that collect ideas and interpretations of details that are necessary for the research.
Extrapolating ideas, ethnicity, and culture are the most common variables to be studied using
qualitative research methods, its responses to open-ended questions that generate the
personal touch of the study about how issues are being answered in a natural setting with or
without determining the values and correlations of the said study, in-depth feelings,
experiences and as well as thoughts of the variables.
Conclusion
Qualitative and Quantitative Research Method uses different significance individually via
variables and cause-and-effect relationships. Using these two research methods may result in a
different process that may lead to what is truly been set. It also results in their advantage and
disadvantages we may conclude that these two methods generate ways and processes of
identifying what you wanted to study. Flowing of the result may also classify that it creates
different domains to study. Subjective and appreciative.
