FAX-30 How to upgrade a program

1 Preparation
The following procedure shows how to upgrade an application program.
Upgrading a boot program takes same process, too.

1.1 Connecting
When upgrading a program, connect PC to the FAX-30 through the HUB via the
LAN cable.

1.2 Check an application program file

2 Upgrading procedure
Make sure to execute CLEAR MEMORY and check a detailed program version
information whenever upgrading a program.

Procedure
1. Connect PC and FAX-30 through HUB with LAN connection.
2. Open an application program folder of FAX-30.
3. Click a SETUP batch file, and DOS prompt display will show up.

4. Unplug or plug a FAX-30 power connector after “my IPaddress

172.31.100.100” shows up. 172.31.100.100 is an IPaddress set to PC.
5. Program upgrading starts automatically.

6. DOS prompt display closes automatically after upgrading a program.

Executing CLEAR MEMORY
7. Start a LAN connection between FAX-30 and PC, and “Top display of FAX-
30”will show up.
8. Select CLEAR MEMORY in WX FAX or SYSTEM SETUP of NAVTEX and
execute “CLEAR ALL MEMORY”.

Checking a detailed program version information

9. Unplug a power connector of FAX-30 and turn off the power.
10. Turn on S1-#2 of FAX-30 MAIN board.

Turn on S1-#2

11. Plug a FAX-30 power connector and turn on the power.

12. Start a LAN connection between FAX-30 and PC, and “Top display of FAX-
30” will show up.
13. Execute TEST in WX FAX or SYSTEM SETUP of NAVTEX.
14. Check detailed program version information.

Upper: 0850188-01.0x
Boot program No.

Lower: 0850189-04.0x
Application program No.

Usual TEST display TEST display

(S1-#2 OFF) (S1-#2
15. Unplug a power connector and set ON)
S1-#2 of MAIN board back to OFF.
