Peejay: To the dear panelist, I am Peejay V. De Castro and I greet you all, a pleasant day.

We
will be presenting our research study entitled…. Together with my co-researchers, Hanhz
Jaylord Magnaye and Ruby Jean Mosquera.

Peejay: The work immersion program plays a big role in every Grade 12 students because it is
one of the major requirements of every student to pass in their curriculum. It provides them with
the opportunity to network with peers, build relationships with potential employers, and gain
valuable insight into the social and professional dynamics of the workplace. In Pag-asa National
High School, there are seven different work immersion venues. 203 rd Brigade, Bureau of Fire
Protection (BFP), Local Government Unit (LGU), Philippine National Police (PNP), Quinton
Laws Office, Rural Bank, and School. Work immersion in different venues can also have a
different positive effect on social development because working with a range of people from
different backgrounds, job roles, and work cultures can help individuals develop communication
skills, build their leadership skills and self-efficacy. The main aim of this study is to determine
the impact of Work Immersion Program on the social development of Grade 12 students at Pag-
asa National High School in different work immersion venues.

Peejay: Now that we are familiar with the background of the study, we can move on to
supporting it through the theoretical framework.

Peejay: As you can see in the visual, we found two theories, the social constructionist theory in
social work, and developmental theory in social work as well.

Hanhz: Social constructionist perspective focuses on how people learn to classify the world
and their place in it. People are seen as social beings who interact with each other and the
physical world based on shared meanings or understandings about the world. These
understandings shape their social interactions and how they learn from social interaction.

Ruby Jean: on the other hand, the developmental perspective is a complex process of
biological, psychological, and social processes that unfold over time. It involves new tasks and
changes in social roles and statuses.

Peejay: These theories plays a crucial role in the present study as they provide guidance for the
research process and provide evidence for a phenomenon. They offer concepts to describe
what will be noticed and the connections between concepts. In conclusion, these two theories
provide a framework for the study that will be done.

Hanhz: This section shows the conceptual framework of our study. As you can see in the figure,
the independent variable is the Work Immersion Program. The dependent variable is the social
development of Grade 12 students and Work immersion venues is the intervening variable who
is responsible on the relationship of the independent and dependent variable.

Peejay: Now lets move on to the statement of the problem.

Peejay: As we have said earlier, this study aims to determine the impact of work immersion
program on the social development of Grade 12 students at Pag-asa National High School.
Specifically, the researchers sought to answer the following questions. First, Does Work
Immersion Program has an impact on the students’ social development in terms of
communication skills, leadership skills, and self-efficacy? Second, Is there any significant
relationship between the Work Immersion Program and the social development of Grade 12
students in terms of Communication skills Leadership skills, and Self-efficacy? And lastly, Is
there a significant difference on the social development of Grade 12 Students on the different
work immersion venue?

Ruby Jean: Based on our statement of the problem, we have come up with two null hypothesis.
The first one is that there is no significant relationship between Work Immersion Program and
the students’ social development in terms of communication skills, leadership skills and self-
efficacy. The second one is……There is no significant difference on the social development of
Grade 12 Students on the different work immersion venue.

Hanhz: We used the descriptive research design, because it is a research design aids in
answering the questions of who, what, when, where, and how that are related with a specific
research problem. Descriptive research is used to gather information on current situations and
conditions and to learn about the existing state of a phenomenon as well. And because the
purpose of the study is to determine the impact of work immersion program on the students’
social development, the descriptive quantitative research design would be the most effective to
use.

Peejay: As per the Sampling procedure, the researchers used the Simple Random Sampling
method. In this sampling method, Each member of the population has an exact equal probability
of getting chosen. Among all the probability sampling techniques, this one is the most
straightforward because it only needs one random selection and little prior population
knowledge. The reason the researchers chose this particular sampling strategy was to ensure
that each participant had an equal probability of being chosen. With 166 students in Grade 12
and a margin of error of 0.05, the Slovin's formula will be used to calculate the sample size.

Ruby Jean: The (117) Grade 12 students enrolled in Pag-asa National High School during the
second semester of the academic year 2022–2023 make up the study's total respondents. The
population size and the margin of error are taken into consideration in determining the sample
size. They are chosen as the respondents since they participate in the Work Immersion
Program.

Peejay: The statistical tool that the researchers employed in the study are the following: Firstly,
Mean………… Mean is used on data which answers questions regarding the senior high
students’ agreeability in terms of certain statements that can also determine if Work Immersion
Program has an impact on the social development of students. Second, the spearman’s
correlation, this will be used to determine if there is a significant relationship between the Work
Immersion Program and the social development of Grade 12 students in terms of
communication skills, leadership skills and self-efficacy. And lastly, the one-way anova. This is
used to compare the seven independent means. It is used to determine if there is a significant
difference on the social development of Grade 12 Students on the different work immersion
venue.
