Lesson 6- Students Engagement Techniques and Strategies (SETS)

Answer the following questions.

1. As a future teacher, how will you organize your lessons using the different SETS?

As a future teacher, I will design my lesson into an interesting one. Following the
different SETS I will make my lesson fun and interesting which capture students interest
to learn. I will include activities that engage student and encourage them to participate
and learn. A well organize lesson will help not just for the learning acquisition of the
children but also for the development of teaching strategies of the teacher.
2. As a future teacher, what do you think are the factors that will help you utilize
different SETS in your class?

I think motivation to teach, passion and dedication to my profession are the factors that
motivates me to utilize the SETS in classroom teaching. These factors will become my
strength in dealing with my students and organize lessons that is suitable to the class level
of learning acquisition.

3. Down the Memory Lane. Recall your experiences when you were in elementary or
high school. How did your teachers teach the lessons then? To what extent did your
teacher employ SETS? How did they do it? Explain your answer.

During my high school days, when delivering the lessons teachers assign as to do a
reporting and after that, he/she provides additional inputs to the discussion as well as
his/her feedbacks to the presentation. Activities and quizzes are also imposed in order to
understand and evaluate our learning on the topic. Teachers utilize SETS in organizing
the lessons and creating activities where student’s engagement is observed. Basically, our
teachers create groups activities which allows as to interact and have genuine learning
within our group.
