That there is a certain need for policemen to have legal knowledge so that they do
know violate anybody’s rights in the process of investigation
2. That there is a lot of complains of policemen abusing their powers and rather than
people feeling safe, they are scared of police.
3. That many police officers do not have the proper knowledge about their powers and
rules, so they do some things without knowing that is not in their power for example –
Snatching the keys to the vehicles whenever the stop someone for violating a traffic
rule.
4. The police officers need to mend in ways of the new system because many of them
still function according to the old rules and regulations. This was even said by
Karnataka High court in their judgement on the Lalita Kumari case. “The bench said
that a workshop was required for IPS and senior police officers on the Lalita
Kumari judgement because they continue to work according to the old system” .
5. That the police officers sometimes files wrong chargesheet against the accused as they
do now have proper knowledge about the sections of that offences.
