 “Indian National Congress always claimed to be representative of all the segments of


Indian society”; Keeping in view of this statement, critically evaluate the emergence of
All India Muslim League as a counterforce. Justify your answer with five valid points.

 Although in the beginning Indian National Congress showed that it would be equally in
representative of all the segments of India, but with the passage if time it proved that it
was totally in favor of Hindu society. So that why it was quite necessary for Muslims to
frame a separate party to protect their rights.

1. Such as Congress framed special policies according to education and culture,


which were promoting just the Hindu culture.

2. Congress introduced Banda-Mataram anthem in institutions. Which was not


acceptable for Muslims.

3. Congress was totally in favor to merge Muslims culture and identity with Hindu
culture. Which was totally unjust. Because Muslims and Hindu beliefs are all
different from each other.

4. Muslims were not given freedom to perform freely their religious activities.

5. The Urdu Hindi controversy was also clear clue that the Congress government
want to fully suppress the Muslim community .

 Due to above reasons Muslims form “Muslim league” which was a counter force against
Congress to protect Muslims rights.
 What socio-political contributions of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan made him a ‘saviour’ of the
Muslims of Sub-continent amid British Raj? Explain your answer with five relevant
points.

 Following points show that sir Syed Ahmed Khan was saviuor of Muslims of
subcontinent.

1. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was best known for Aligarh movement. He made this movement
to reform the social and economical aspects of Islam.
2. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan invited the Muslims to get modern education to compete the
rivalry.
3. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan the founder of two nation theory. This theory best explained the
difference between Muslims and Hindus which was necessary for the separate identity
of Muslims.
4. He was the founder of modern madrassa. This was the first religious school imparting
the scientific education.
5. He made scientific society for translating western education for Indian Muslims.
