Your child has been invited to join a research study: “Summary, Analyze, and Respond (SAR)
Approach: An Intervention to Increase Students’ Analytical Reading Ability.”

In this matter, we are asking for your consent to let your child participate in this study which aims to
determine the level of analytical reading ability of the students as a result of the SAR approach and
how they describe their experiences regarding the use of SAR.

The researchers assure you that your child’s name will not be used when data from this study are
published. Every effort will be made to keep research records and other personal information
confidential. We, the researchers, take full responsibility in keeping the information confidential, and
to protect it from unauthorized disclosure tampering or damage.
