You must make sure that the O-ring remains in the groove at the end of the feed horn before
attaching the radio transmitter. If the O-ring is not positioned properly, moisture will accumulate
inside the TRIA, causing damage to the radio transmitter.
5. Use a long-shaft ball driver 3-mm Allen wrench to tighten the socket-head screws to 15 in-lb
of torque (maximum)
6. When the radio transmitter assembly is fully assembled, tighten the two 5/16-inch bolts to
secure the radio transmitter to the feed support arm

HN7000S Installation and Commissioning
Ku Pointing Devices
The DAPT and OPI are pointing devices
to simplify the pointing process
Attach the Outdoor Pointing Interface
(OPI) meter or DAPT with 22KHz filter in-
line with the receive cable
Connect the receive and transmit cables
OPI with 22 KHz filter
to the modem
You can use the DAPT with DW and HN
equipment, as a direct replacement for
the OPI. The same 22 KHz filter must be
used, as well. The DAPT is direction
sensitive, see the back for the correct
cable attachments.
Using DAPT
Once the DAPT and filter are correctly assembled and installed, the first
thing to notice is the displayed information. It will be showing you the
actual voltage on the Rx IFL cable. This value could be anywhere between
~11vdc and as high as ~18.2vdc. This is based on Horizontal or Vertical
receive of the system.
On your laptop, go to the System Control Center, select the Advanced
page, go into Installation → Setup → Registration Installer → enter zip
code, select satellite transponder or enter parameters manually, ‗Enable
OPI‘ for use during antenna pointing. By pressing the ‗Advance‘ button
on DAPT (#3, on the right), it will change from the IFL cable voltage to
‗COMM Startup‘.
The display will then change automatically to show you Mode and Value.
‗Mode‘ will either be ‗0‘ or ‗2‘. The ‗0‘ mode indicates receive pointing,
while the ‗2‘ mode indicates ACP (Auto Cross-Pol), either ‗manual‘ or
‗automatic‘. Manual mode will show a constantly changing (dynamic)
value, while Automatic will show a single (static) value. The ‗Value‘
indicated will be the same value showing on your laptop. You cannot
change DAPT operation from ACP to registration mode by pressing the
‗Advanced‘ button. As with the OPI, you have to make that change at the
laptop.

The ACP Isolation value (ISO) is
not checked by the Tool on the first
attempt. This is based on the
assumption that the new site could
only have been commissioned
after passing the ACP Isolation
test.
Successful installation is
determined by 5 variables: Code

Modem Lights
LAN – The LAN LED indicates the LAN is connected and
flashes indicating traffic
Transmit – The Transmit LED flashes indicating the
modem is transmitting properly
Receive – The Receive LED flashes indicating the
modem is receiving properly
System – The System LED indicates the system is
completely operational
Power – The Power LED indicates the modem is
powered on
– A flashing power LED indicates the modem is running
factory software. Once activated, the modem receives
current software and power LED will turn solid
– The modem will power cycle and load the software, if this
fails (continued flashing power LED) then a manual power
cycle may be performed
– Monitor the software download from the Control Center

LAN LED
The LAN LED is solid once an Ethernet cable is
connected to the modem and a network card
The LED will flash with activity
If the LAN LED is not lit, this indicates a problem
with the cable or network card
If the LAN LED is on but does not flash when
attempting to browse, there is a problem with the
configuration of the network card
