When it comes liquors, Emperador is one of the top selling alcohols in the

Philippines. Emperador is very popular that all Supermarkets and even a neighborhood

sundry store sari-sari store has it. If there is no emperador on the table, the Filipino

birthday isn't complete. Although Emperador brandy is not a fine brandy, it has a bite

and the price is fair for its quality. The price of 1L Emperador light brandy ranges from

180-200 php about 3.20-3.55 usd. I don't think the Filipinos' love for Emperador

products will fade.

Gin and rum were the most used alcoholic beverages in the Philippines when

Andrew Tan introduced the Emperador Brandy in the year 1990. One of the three

businesses under Alliance Global Group is Emperador Distilleries. Dr. Andrew Tan, a

self-made billionaire who is Chinese and Filipino, is the owner of Emperador.

2013 saw the launch of Emperador in Europe following the purchase of Bodega

San Bruno. Later, Emperador also bought 409 more hectares of land in Madrid. 400
million bottles of Emperador were sold in Asia in 2013, making it the best-selling brandy

in the world.
