SIZE OF INTERPRISE

Types of businesses according to size


1. Micro enterprise
- asset not exceeding ₱50,000 and its usually home based enterprise
- employs 1 not more than 10 people
Ex. Taho vendors, puto vendor, sari-sari store
2. Cottage enterprise
- asset of ₱250,000 but not exceeding
- home based business but operated by the family
Ex. Food manufacturer, foot wears, decorative products
3. Small enterprise
- has an asset ₱500,000 but not exceeding ₱2.5 million
- owned by individual or group
- employs by 10-20 people
Ex. Grocery, bakeshops, beauty salons, medical and dental clinic, toy makers, jeepney manufacturers,
travel/tour agencies
4. Medium Enterprise
- Has an asset ₱5 million to less than ₱20 million
- employs 20-100 worker
- own by a single individual, business partners or a corporation
Ex. Fine dining restaurants with branches, computer importer – dealers, garment manufacturer, private
educational institution
5. large enterprise
- asset of ₱20 million or more
- employs 100 or more workers
Ex. Big fast food chains, large department store, big book store, family owned commercial banks
