    REQUIREMENTS TO AVOID PAYING PENALTIES

    Sec on 13(1) of The Belize Building Act CHAP .131, of the Laws of Belize, states that
    any person who proposes to construct or demolish a building as defined in Sec on 2 of
    this Act, shall send or cause to be sent to the authority an applica on for a permit to
    build or demolish.

    (2) Every applica on for a permit to build shall be made in wri ng or electronically and
    shall be accompanied by such drawings, descrip ons, calcula ons and specifica ons as
    the Building Unit or Director may require on a prescribed form.
