Essay question
All young people who have the opportunity should study in a foreign school or
college for a year. Do you agree?

Nowadays, globalization is becoming faster than it has ever been. People from
different countries can communicate with ease, thanks to the internet and great
technologies all over the world. Traditions, trends, knowledge, spread in a matter of
seconds. Even though most of us can access to all these amazing things it is quite
different from travelling and seeing them in front of us.
If you have the opportunity to study in a foreign school or college, you could learn
their customs, learn their language, communicate with the local people and get to
know a very small part of what that country has to offer.
In one year, you are growing not only physically but also mentally, you become more
independent, you discover yourself while gaining knowledge of a different culture,
and it tests your ability to adapt to various situations.
It is scientifically proven that knowing more than one language increases your brain
power, attention control and problem solving. It can also help you in the job market,
improve your social life, and it is now widely recognized that being bilingual can
delay neurological diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s.
So, if you are able to spend one academic year in a foreign country, you are only
benefiting from it.
