CONCEPT OF DISASTER
 Disaster is an emergency that cannot be handled by those affected without outside
assistance.
 Natural or man-made events wherein communities experience severe danger and incur the
loss of lives and properties causing disrupting their social structure and to all or some of the
affected communities’ essential functions.
FORMS OF DISASTER
 Disasters can take many different forms, and the duration can range from an hourly duration
to days or weeks of ongoing destruction.
