I sat down with a couple folks from different blueberry sectors

yesterday and, as predicted, everyone is tightening their belts this
season. Lots of concern with Peru as well as organic production
transitioning back to conventional practices.

Seasons like this have growers finding ways to decrease input costs
which is understandable but also comes with risks. Think carefully
about what your plants need and stick to that minimum. This is when
your soil and leaf analysis from late last season really help tailor
fertility needs. It’s fine to stick to the basics, just be sure they are
being met!

This is the final week for some export market registrations. Korea
fresh market registration program in Oregon closes March 10th.
Information here.

Next week will be the official kick off of the regional reports.

PESTICIDE AND MRL RESOURCES:

The Specialty Crops Registration Program, located at the North
Willamette Research and Extension Center, is part of a network of
field research centers throughout the USA that cooperate with the
national IR-4 Program, conducting field research trials and
laboratory analyses to determine safe levels of pesticides in
agricultural food crops, and is the only such center in Oregon.
