WHAT'S INSIDE NORTHWEST BERRY FOUNDATION
INDUSTRY RESOURCES
We are rolling into November, and tackling the back and forth of in-person and virtual
meetings like an 8-hour game of ping-pong. Virtual meetings have, on one hand, been a

significant step forward in developing collaborations within the Pacific Northwest. Future
planning in virtual meetings is helpful. It has prevented overlapped work efforts at times
INDUSTRY NEWS when reinventing the wheel seemed almost inevitable when working with multiple
commissions and committees.
PEST MANAGEMENT
On the other hand, video conference fatigue is real. It’s hard to catch up on action items
from the meeting you just attended when several more zoom meetings with action items

follow in the same day. Gone are the days you could drive away after finishing one meeting
which gave you time to chew on how best to tackle the meeting outcomes. Of course,
nothing is better than in-person interaction, even masked, in-person interactions. However,
many upcoming meetings are juggling restrictions, unknown attendance numbers,
recouping venue cost concerns, and hybridizing logistics.
For me, patience and understanding will be key to getting through this busy meeting season.
We're all still learning to navigate and pace ourselves in a time where the very definition of
work and workspace is changing.

REGIONAL MONITORING
As October comes to a close, the data we have for you today shows a continue trend of patterns we have
seen developing in past weeks. October weather turned out to be quite chaotic as we had mild spells
interrupted by some massive weather systems that brought lots of rainfall and some sub-freezing
temperatures.
