Ben Buchholz, with Washington Friends of Farms and Forests, recently


passed this along. Something to keep in mind:

Washington growers hang on to your fuel receipts. Washington


State has a Climate Commitment Act, which is to cap and reduce
greenhouse gas emissions from Washington’s largest emitting
sources. Farm use of fuel is exempt, but unfortunately many
Washington farmers are still paying a surcharge they should not have
to. Department of Ecology, the Governors office, House and Senate
Democrats and agricultural representatives continue to work on a
solution to get a refund process setup to get the collected fees
returned to farmers. Farmers are still encouraged to keep all fuel
receipts because there will eventually be a process to get a refund for
the carbon fee.
