PRINCIPLE 2 (Acts 27:4-10)

A LEADER ALWAYS TAKES THE INITIATIVE

Paul disregarded his lowly position and seized the initiative to speak concerning
the times of their trip. This set the foundation for future input even though they
did not heed this word at this time.

How to be an initiator:-
Let us consider the example of Nehemiah (a) he identified with the need (b) he
simplified the problems to make them understandable. (c) he came up with
solution
(d) he shared the work with other (delegation) (e ) he could work with others.
Someone said “what the church need is less critics more initiators”.

PRINCIPLE 3 (Acts 27: 9-10)

A LEADER UESE GOOD JUDGMENT

A leader is not a gambler with the essentials. Paul said “the voyage will be
dangerous” Good judgment is an essential part of Biblical leadership – lack of it is
one of the greatest destroyers of leaders.

REMEMBER:
(a) Avoid unwise moves through much counsel (Pro. 11: 14; 19:20)
(b) Initiate only what heaven initiates through the Spirit (Prov. 27:1)
(c) You’re not allowed to, many mistakes as a leader without a break-down in
confidence (Ecc. 10:11).
(d) Majority rule is not always the best method (Acts 27: 11).
