PRINCIPLE 6 (Acts 27:25)

A LEADER IS OPTIMISTIC AND ENTHUSIASTIC

Paul announced the optimistic outcome by focusing on the objective rather than the obstacle
(Prov. 22:13; 28:1). This optimism and enthusiasm was part of his strengthening of others.

PRINCIPLE 7 (Acts 27:31)

A LEADER NEVER COMPROMISES HIS ABSOLUTES

Paul boldly declares when plans were being carried out to abandon ship, “Except thee abide
in the ship, ye cannot be saved”. If God had revealed a truth, there could be no compromise!

NOTE: When you start to compromise, you betray your character and when you do that,
your soul will follow and later yourself.

PRINCIPLE 8 (Acts 27: 33, 34)

A LEADER FOCUS ON OBJECTIVES NOT ON OBSTACLES

Although the storm was destructive and dangerous, Paul saw beyond the trouble now present
and urged preparation for the objective “Take food …………”

PRINCIPLE 10 (Acts 27: 36-44)

A LEADER ACTIVATES PEOPLE

Paul had spent only 3 Sabbaths with the Thessalonians at the birth of their church but their
testimony went out throughout the whole world (1Thess. 1:8). Notice in this passage how
everyone is doing the work (e.g. gathering food, serving it, sailors cutting rope etc.)

Remember what Jethro showed to Moses in Exodus 18. Moses reduced his work load by
showing the responsibility so Moses would serve longer. Moses abandoned the one man
show strategy.
