The Hate U Give - short summary of the story

Star, who is the main character, is a black teenager who lives in the USA, in which she
will have to face problems related to racism throughout the history. Her family is very lovely,
however the experienced father knows very well what his children may have to face due the
skin tone, with this, he creates some important rules for his children to follow in case of
emergency.
Star witnessed the murder of Khalil , who was his best friend, by a white police officer,all
of this was made for no reason at all, actually just because of his skin color, and from there
the film is based on the occurrence of protests against Khalil's death, the consequences that
she had to go through, for having told the truth to TV, the injustice and everything much
more related to that.
At the end of the film, after a lot of battle, effort and dedication for the justice of his best
friend Khalil, the film ends without being able to have justice for him, but they were saved
from a case that could be the same as Khalil's because they followed some of the rules
taught by their father, and managed to sensitize the police not to make the same mistake
they made with their friend.
This film is part of a drama/crime in which the theme is racism, with the main message
being to sensitize people to end the prejudice and discrimination that exists between peoples
due to skin color.
