LOVE CAN BREAK DOWN BARRIERS

Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leap fences, penetrates walls to

arrive its destination, full of hope,(Angelo, 2012). This is what the movie “House of
flying daggers” wants their audience to obtain. The film aims to show the journey of
the characters ending with fighting over love. It manages to show that love is a
powerful thing and can destroy a barrier between the two-person falls in love. 
The movie tells a story of three main characters whose lives entangled with
one another. The story started about battles between a senescent, corrupt
government and a resistance group. But along the way, it concentrates on the three
characters. Jin the police captain who falls in love to the daughter of the rebel group
named Mei. While Mei eventually will fall in love for Jei. But Mei has a lover named
Leo who turns out to be Jin's police partner and at the same time, a mole planted by
a rebel group in the police department.
On a human scale, the deceptions between the characters matter greatly
simply because the plots and the twist are mind blowing and make the audiences
crave for more. Jin and Mei were not supposed to fall in love because they come
from the opposite side and yet still doing it. But the three most important scenes in
this movie are first, Jin found out that Leo, his partner is a traitor and lovers of Mei.
Second, when Leo found out that Mei is in love with Jin. Lastly, when Mei is
assigned to kill Jin but couldn't do it because of her love. In the end, Jin and Leo
were fighting over the love for Mei. Love is powerful. Jin and Mei striving to prove
their love even if they were on the opposite side. The course of their love story is
tragic. In the end, fate did not permit their love and led them to a tragic event that
one of them will die.
Therefore, House of Flying Daggers movie was able to show the significance
in life and helps the audience ponder what is really the important thing in the
world? In real life, we are the same as the character of this movie because we are also
willing to fight in order to protect our loved ones. We are striving hard to reach out
and connect our love and no barriers will hold even if it is by culture, religion, belief,
traditions, and status in life. Love can break barriers.
