AND TECHNIQUES

TOPIC TWO: INTEGRATED AREA DEVELOPMENT PLANNING FROM


SECTOR PLANNING

1. Integrated development planning is a planning exercise which involve different


sectors and agencies in the area (Region or district) and which attempts to
integrate/ combine the activities of these sectors within a general framework for
development of a particular area. Explain instruments guiding development
planning process in Tanzania (GROUP 04).
2. Explain needs of Integrated Development Plan in development process
specifically in area development plan (GROUP 05).
3. Integrated Development Plan (IDP) is a great plan for an area that gives an
overall framework for development, despite of its importance in development
but there several hinderances experienced from its preparations to the
implementation stage. By using vivid examples, explain challenges facing IDP

5. Sectoral planning involves planning for specific sector issues/problems, by using
