Lebron James

When Lebron James was born, nobody would have thought that he would have

made it to the NBA, let alone become one of the best basketball players in history. He

was born in poverty and surrounded by gang violence, broken families, and he was

constantly moving from home to home. Yet, he still managed to pursue his dream.

Through the discipline of basketball he was able to overcome his odds while becoming

one of the best high school basketball players in his graduating class in 2003.

Eventually, this led him to become one of the best basketball players in the world.

Lebron was born December 30, 1984 in a poor neighborhood in Akron, Ohio. His

mother gave birth to him when she was 16 and still in high school. From the time he

was born he had a lot of things to overcome. Lebron was the son of Gloria James and

Anthony McCelland. Lebron never knew his biological father and was raised by his

mom’s boyfriend who became the closest thing he had to a dad. However, the closest

thing he had to a father-figure was put in jail for two years, so he wasn't around very

much. Therefore his mom was everything to him.

Because Lebron moved a lot in his childhood he wasn't able to establish himself

in one place. This kept him away from trouble and the wrong people, but he never

really had a home. As he was growing up his mom became a huge part of his life, the

only other consistent part of Lebron’s life was basketball. His love for the game made

him more disciplined and therefore kept him out of problems that his peers had gotten

into. Because thats where he put all of his time, he became so good that he was one of

the best basketball players in the nation. At the age of 18, he even entered the NBA

draft.

Lebron’s progress didn't just deal with basketball. As he played in the NBA he

started his own family when he had his first son on October 6, 2004 with Savannah

Brinson. He named his first son ws Lebron Jr. Later his girlfriend at the time had their

second son, Bryce Maximus. After having two children, James married his girlfriend,

Savannah Brinson, on September 14, 2013. Even though Lebron didn't have his own

family when growing up, he was able to create his own and was able to give his children

what he did not have. If you ask anybody what his biggest achievement in his career is,

they would probably say that it is making it through all the troubles he had in his own life

and making the world better for other people.

I think if Lebron would not have been born in such a poor and terrible

neighborhood, he may not have fought for himself to have made it. Also if he didn’t play

sports as a kid he might have got in trouble just because he was in such a bad

neighborhood, so sports kept his mind focused and he didn’t get into a lot of trouble.

Lebron tried to help his neighborhood out by donating thousands of backpacks to the

Akron and Cleveland areas. He knew how it is to live in a wild neighborhood, so he

wanted to do everything to help, even though he didn’t have people to help him. Even

though people were against him he used his talent and took advantage of it. He then

went on to be one of the best players in the NBA while continuing to give back to people

all the time. Now being the peak of his career, he has won multiple championships, and

awards in the league and is hoping to end off his season with playing with his son

Lebron, Jr. He also has just accomplished having the most career points in the league.

With all he has accomplished it would be easy to say that Lebron is one of the

best to ever play the game He has created a legacy for his family and has made it

possible for his sons will follow in his footsteps. He constantly has given others what he

never had. Because of all the things he has been through, it not only saved his life it

made him a great athlete and person.
