Right ear
RS facing, join white with a ch1 to the far right. Follow the directions for
the Left ear. For this part ONLY, the even rows will be the RS. The Right
ear should mirror the left.
Turn the face over and knot any loose strands together and trim them,
but not too short. No need to sew in the ends if they are secured in this
way as they will not show.
Back of Head, Bottom
White and Ghook
Rows 1-11. Same as face.
12. 2sc in the first stitch, sc in the next 22, 2sc in the last stitch. Ch1,
turn. (26sc)
13. – 14. Sc in each stitch across. Ch1, turn. FO

Color B and Ghook
1. Ch27. Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch across. Ch1, turn.

Other ear
RS facing, join color B with a ch1 to the far right. Follow the directions for
the Left ear. For this part ONLY, the even rows will be the RS. The Right
ear should mirror the left.
Assembling the Head
Matching the Back of Head, Bottom with the lower half of the Face.
Wrong sides together, sc together with white and the Ghook. Begin on
the left side, top of the back bottom piece and sc all around, changing to
color B at the top of the bottom piece on the right side of the face. Match
the top half in the same way and sc all around with color B. You will want
to put 2-3 increases at the very top points of the ears to turn the corner
neatly. Carefully match the pieces together as you go to be sure there
are no gaps. When you are back to the beginning, slst to the first white
sc and FO.
Snout
White and Ghook. Snout is made in continuous rounds. Do not join or
turn. Use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of each round.
1. 6sc in a MC (6)
2. 2sc in each stitch. (12)

7-8. Sc in each stitch around.
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Nose
With black/brown and the Ghook.
(sc, hdc, dc, hdc) twice in a MC. Join with a slst to the beginning sc.
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
With white, embroider a short line as nose shine. Refer to pictures for
placement.
Sew nose to just above center of the snout.
Use remaining tail to embroider a smile.
Sew snout to the bottom of the face, bottom of snout matched up with
bottom of chin. Just before closing, stuff lightly.
Eye (make 2)
Use Ehook
1. With black, 6sc in a MC. Join with a slst to beginning sc. Remove
hook. Pull out a long loop and pass the work through to knot. Do not
FO. (6sc)
2. Join lt. blue to the back loop of any stitch. 2sc BLO in each stitch
around. Join with a slst to beginning sc. FO blue. (12)
3. Pull up a loop of black through the back loop of any stitch. Slst blo
loosely around. FO black. Pull the tail through the next loop to complete
the last stitch. (12)
Turn the eye over and carefully knot the black tails together without
misshaping the eye. Knot well and trim the ends short. Repeat with the
lt. blue tails.
4. Join white in the back loop of any slst. *Working BLO around. [2sc,
(sc, hdc), (dc, tr, ch2, slst in 2nd chain from hook), (tr, dc), (hdc, sc), 2sc]
over the next stitches, changing to color C in the last stitch. Repeat
from * with color C in the remaining 6 stitches. Join with a slst to the
beginning white sc. FO both colors, leaving tails for sewing. (24stitches)
Turn eye over and knot short white and color B tails and trim as before.
Use white to stitch on some eye glints. Knot and trim those ends, too.
Sew eyes to face, referring to picture for placement.
Knot any remaining tails and stuff into the head. Stuff head semi-firmly,
leaving the ears unstuffed. Closing instructions in blanket section.

Blanket
Center
1. With Ghook, join color B by slip-stitching to the sc trim on the side of
the head. 26sc across, working through both layers to close the gap.
Slst to the sc head trim on the other side. Ch1, turn. (28stitches)
2. Change to Ihook. (Sc, ch1, sk1) across. Sc in the last 2 stitches.
Ch1, turn. (15sc, 13spaces)
3. Sc in first stitch. (Ch1, sc in chspace) across. Sc in last stitch.
Repeat row 3 until blanket is 15” long or desired length. FO.
Sides
Rotate blanket to work up the long side. You will be stitching into the
end of every other row.
1. With color C and Ihook, join with a slst to the end. (Sc, Ch1, sk1)
across. Sc in the last 2 stitches. Ch1, turn.
2-3. Worked the same as blanket center.
Repeat row 3 until color C section is about 3 inches long, or desired
length.
Repeat the same process for the other side.
Paws
Pad of paw (make 4)
Note: Slst 1 row below is made like a spike stitch or a long sc, only it is
a slst. This will help to separate the black into individual toe pads.
Back of paw (make 4)
With white and G hook
1. – 3. Same as 1-3 of Pad of paw without the color changes.
4. Ch2. Hdc in next stitch. Sc in next 4 stitches. Hdc in next stitch.
Ch1, sc in next stitch. *Slst before shell 1 row below. Sc in 1st hdc
of shell, 2sc in 2nd hdc of shell, sc in last hdc of shell. Repeat from *
3 more times. Slst past last shell 1 row below. Slst to join with
beginning ch2. Do not turn.
5. Ch1, sc in same stitch as joining. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc in
the top of the chain. FO, leaving long tail for sewing.
Secure all ends and trim, leaving long tail for next step. With wrong
sides of 1 front and 1 back of paw together and matched, sew together
along bottom edge and to 1 corner of blanket. Repeat for all the
corners. Paws will be closed and stuffed in next step.
Trim
With I hook, RS facing, sc all around the blanket, closing and stuffing
the paws as you go. Carry color C THROUGH the paw rather than
cutting it each time. Change colors as you reach them. Match the
stitches on the front and back of the paws and sc through both layers.
Stuff ends and a bit of stuffing inside before stitches shut. When fully
trimmed, FO and sew all ends.

1. With hook G and black (or desired paw pad color) 10 hdc in a MC,
changing to C in last stitch. Do not join. Continue in the round.
2. With white, BLO, 2sc in each stitch around. Join with a slst,
changing to color B. (20)
3. With black, (slst in next stitch, 3hdc in next, slst in next) 4 times.
FO, leaving remaining 8 stitches of round 2 unworked.
4. 2 stitches before beginning of round 3 pull up loop of white. Ch1,
sc in same stitch. *Slst before shell 1 row below. Sc in 1st hdc of
shell, 2sc in 2nd hdc of shell, sc in last hdc of shell. Repeat from * 3
more times. Slst past last shell 1 row below. Sc in each stitch
around to beginning. Join with a slst to beginning sc. Turn.
5. (WS) Ch2 (counts as hdc). Hdc in next stitch. Sc in next 4 stitches.
Hdc in next 2 stitches. FO.

Note: The toes will pucker or curl a little and that’s okay. When we
stuff it later it will be just right.

Tail
With Ghook, work in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark
the last stitch of each round.
1. White 4sc in a MC. (4)
2. Sc in each stitch around.
3. 2sc in the first stitch, sc in each remaining stitch. (5sc)
4. Sc in each stitch around.
5. 2hdc in the first stitch, hdc in the next stitch, changing to color B in
the last stitch. Sc in the last 3 stitches, changing to white in the last
stitch. (6)
6. With white, hdc in the first 3 stitches, changing to color B in the last
stitch. Sc in the last 3 stitches, changing to white in the last stitch.
7. 2hdc in the first stitch, hdc in the next 2 stitches, changing to color
B in the last stitch. Sc in the last 3 stitches, changing to color C in the
last stitch. (7)
8. With color C, hdc in the first 4 stitches, changing to color B in the
last stitch. Sc in the last 3 stitches, changing to color C in the last
stitch.
9. With color C, (2hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next) twice,
changing to color B in the last stitch. With color B, sc in the next 2
stitches, slst in the last. FO both colors with a tail for sewing.
Stuff just the base of the tail. Sew to the lower back of the blanket.
Refer to pictures for placement.
Chest Patch
With white and Ghook
1. 16dc in a MC. Join with a slst to beginning dc. (16)
2. Ch2. *(dc, tr, dc) in the same stitch. 2dc in the next stitch. Hdc in
the next. 2dc in the next stitch. Repeat from * 3 more times. Join with
slst to the beginning dc. Slst into the corner treble. (24stitches)
3. (Sk3, 9tr in the next, sk3, slst in the next corner) twice. FO.
4. With color B, join in the back loop of any stitch and slst BLO all
around the heart, leaving your stitches loose on the curves. FO a long
tail for sewing.
Using color B tail, sew to chest area of blanket.
