WAKE UP Calls Call

Interaction between OPERA and the PBX Interface


The Wake-up Call feature may be used with or without a wake-up call interface. (The property's
telephone PBX usually serves as the wake-up call interface.)

The actual placing of wake up calls is usually handled automatically by the PBX interface.

 When the wake-up call is set up, OPERA immediately sends the instructions to the
interface. The PBX stores the instructions and places the call at the proper time.

 OPERA changes the wake-up call status from Pending to Complete as soon as the call
order is sent to the PBX.

 When the  Wake-Up Calls Failure Notice application parameter is set and a wake-up
attempt fails, then a message prompt is displayed in OPERA to notify the user that a
wake-up call has failed for the time and room number.

Using Traces
 Traces are similar to Messages in that they allow you to attach communications to the
guest reservation.
 Traces also provide features for ensuring that the trace has been resolved — that is,
that the required action has been taken.

Accompanying Guests
The Accompanying Guests screen allows you to add accompanying guests to a reservation.
 An accompanying guest is one who occupies a room with another guest, but who does not
require a separate folio.

 If the guests require separate folios while occupying the same room, use the Shares option
instead.

Alerts
Alerts are messages for hotel staff that are displayed as pop-up screens either when the reservation is
accessed for review or update, at check in, or at check out.

Fixed Charges
Fixed charges may be posted to guest bills that the same transaction is posted to a guest's bill or to
an account on a regular schedule (e.g., daily or weekly).
