COMMERCIAL – selling of goods or service
STATE-FINANCED – provided, paid or controlled by the government
TO TELEVISE – to broadcast something on television
Adverb of frequency
Adverb of frequency describes how often an action happens. A good way to
explain the difference in frequency is by using % as you can see in the
picture below.

semenit/seminggu/sebulan), once every month (sekali setiap bulan)
● twice (dua kali), twice a day/week/month/year (dua kali
sehari/seminggu/sebulan/setahun)
● three times (tiga kali)
● Many times (berkali-kali)
Examples

o Sara always goes out on Saturday evenings.


o Jane’s boyfriend usually picks her up and they drive into the city center.
o Ben and Emma often go for lunch together.
o In the winter Sara sometimes goes Skiing in France.
o James and Stephen rarely go to the cinema in the summer because they
prefer to stay outside.

Question form

To make questions about frequency, we normally use ‘How often…?’, How


frequently?, How many time?
For example:
How often do you watch films?
How frequently does he play tennis?
How many times you go to Bali?

But it’s also possible to ask questions simply with an adverb of frequency.
For example:
Do you often come here?
Does she always work so hard?
Do they ever pay on time? (‘ever’ instead of ‘never’ for questions)
