1. INTROD UCTION
Read the below-given business scenario and implement it in Tally.ERP 9 by creating a company for
‘Smart Write Pvt Ltd’.

1.1. BUSINESS SCENARIO I

‘Smart Write Pvt Ltd’ from Guwahati is into distribution business & supplies Gel Pen across North-East
region of India.

01.04.19 ‘Smart Write Pvt Ltd’ started its business with a capital of Rs. 10,00,000/- &
deposited in SBI Bank.
02.04.19 The company placed a purchase order of 1000 Nos.pens [@ Rs. 250/- each] to
one of the leading Gel Pen manufacturers of Indore named ‘M/S Ganesh
Enterprise’. [ Bill No – Ord 1]

03.04.19 Due to urgency, M/S Ganesh Enterprise delivered the same on the very next day
to Smart Write Pvt Ltd in their Guwahati godown & couriered the invoice hard
copy as well.
30.04.19 Smart Write Pvt Ltd received the purchase invoice [Inv/09] & processed the same
in their account.
01.05.19 Due to damage, 10 Nos of pens were returned to ‘M/S Ganesh Enterprise’.
02.05.19 Full payment is made to ‘M/S Ganesh Enterprise’ against Bill No – P1.

1.2. BUSINESS SCENARIO II

01.05.19 Smart Write Pvt Ltd received an purchase order for 500 Nos Gel Pen @ Rs. 350/-
each from ‘GHY Stationery store’ which they delivered on the same day itself.
[Ord 2 ]
02.05.19 The quality control Dept. of GHY Stationery store noticed that out of the total
procurement, 50 Nos. are in damage state which they returned to Smart Write
Pvt Ltd immediately.
03.05.19 Considering the market demand, the management of ‘GHY Stationery store’
decided not to take back those 50 Nos. as a replacement & informed ‘Smart
Write’ to send invoice [Invoice No. Sal 1] for the remaining 450 Nos. followed by
necessary adjustments as well.
04.05.19 Smart Write Pvt Ltd sent the invoice [Sal - 1] to ‘GHY Stationery store’ for further
process.
30.05.19 Smart Write Pvt Ltd received the full payment from ‘GHY Stationery store’ &
deposited in SBI.
