LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

 Identify ways to create simple MS slides.

 Enumerate the different ways to create new slides.
 Create your own simple slide presentation.

1
ADDING OR INSERTING A NEW SLIDE
In an existing presentation (or even when starting a new one), new slides can be added in three ways:

1.Right-click in between the slides where the new slide will be inserted, then choose New Slide.
2 Click the space between the slides where the new slide will be inserted in (a line will show that it is the active position),
then go to Homes > New Slide.

In the File tab..

Right click and choose New slide

HIDING SLIDES
From a file with many slides, some slides may not be needed to be shown during a presentation, but the presenter
still wants to keep those slides in the file.

To hide a slide, right click and choose hide slide…

The slide number of a hidden slide will be whited out. To unhide a slide, simply right-click on it, and choose Unhide Slide.

2
Duplicating Slides
Creating a double or a duplicate of a slide can be beneficial if the user wants to re-use the format or design of a certain slide.
The user can just right-click on slide and choose Duplicate Slide.

The copy of the slide will appear next to the slide.

ADDING CONTENTS TO A SLIDE

A slide may contain various objects (like texts, images, videos, etc.) that can aid in presenting information.
Texts can simply be added by typing on placeholders. Placeholders are the boxes that are ready when a new
slide is created. Placeholders can be removed from slides and texts can be added using textboxes, instead. Howev-
er, using the placeholders is beneficial as it is needed to use the automation features of MS PowerPoint

Icons can be inserted just like images, shapes, video etc. just by clicking the icons seen in the picture presented.

3
ADDING TEXTBOXES
The use of textbox which is a special type of shape that is designed to place text on your slides.
It can be done by going to Insert> Textbox.
The user then must draw a rectangle on the slide using the mouse. The rectangular box will serve as a textbox.

Click the option Textbox> Drag and draw the texbox inside the slide.

NOTES VIEW
The Notes Page View shows how the presentation will print out if it is printed as handouts from the Print command.
Go to View> Choose Notes Page> You may choose how many slides you want in every page in printing out.
