Answer the following as substantially as possible.

1. Describe Mr. Clark as a person, a friend, and a teacher.

Joe Clark is a person who truly transformed a New Jersey high school. He has an unwavering belief in his
own opinion, a lack of interest in anyone else's, and an abrasive manner. Clark urged the students to
never let life's hardships get the best of them, to trust in themselves and their aspirations, to never give
up, to not become parents before they are ready, and to do a variety of other things that would help
them succeed.

2. What philosophy/philosophies of education are reflected in the movie? Provide some scenarios that
support your claim.

Connection with the children you work with in a school system is critical to the school's and students'
success like how Mr. Clark in the film went out of his way to ensure that each youngster was
comfortable and safe. For example, is how he make sure he knows them not just inside of the school
premises but also their situation at home and hoe is life been with them, another thing is giving students
the second chance to win a better life for themselves.

3. Give two statements/lines from the movie that inspire you the most. Explain.

“Self-respect permeates every aspect of your existence. If you don't have respect for yourself, you're not
gonna get it from anyone else.”

As a person who gives importance to self-respect I agree with this line from the movie. You can have the
confidence to set hard limits when you have a healthy sense of self-respect. It entails understanding
your principles and standing for them, as well as recognizing both your strengths and weaknesses. Self-
respect is an inner attribute that each person must cultivate through time.

“The problem with teenagers is you think you 're smarter than people who already been down the road
you're traveling.”

Some of the teenagers think that they are smarter than those older than them, well actually it is not that
bad but sometimes teenagers just crossed the lines. The logic is that they have more life experience
than you do, and you should strive to learn as much as you can from them. That you should appreciate
them since they have the ability to teach you something new. You don’t need to be aggressive and
hostile when it comes to an adults opinion or belief. Instead of trying to aggressively dominate other
person into accepting your point of view and dismissing theirs, try to learn their point of view and
perspective on the situation. You don't obtain new insights, ideas, or perspectives by debating with
others; you gain new insights, opinions, and perspectives. Everyone has their own set of life experiences
that influence the way they think and interpret things.
