This study examines the effectiveness of online learning on student understanding and learning objectives at MTS Al-Hidayah Cibodas during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online learning uses multimedia technologies, videos, virtual classes, animated online text, voice messages, email, conference calls, and online video streaming. The study aims to provide an objective description of how university students' learning motivation is in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results can be used as an evaluation for creating effective online learning during the pandemic and as a reference for other researchers studying student motivation in online learning during COVID-19.

UNDERSTANDING AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES AT MTS AL- HIDAYAH CIBODAS (Hasan Mawali) NIM 18913070 Online learning is an educational innovation that involves the elements of information technology in learning. The use of technology in education has become a very important issue and is frequently discussed in various learning activities that will be taught. Referring to the situations and conditions that occur in schools, the most ideal learning model used is the one that best fits the characteristics of students, objectives, teaching materials, tools/media, available time, situation and conditions. In accordance with the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) No. 4 of 2020 on the implementation of educational policies during the emergency of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) spread related to the learning process. It states that learning from home through online/distance learning is carried out to provide meaningful learning for students. Online learning is learning using multimedia technology, videos, virtual classes, animated online text, voice messages, e-mail, conference calls, and online video streaming. Learning can be carried out massively with an unlimited number of participants and it can be done for free. For this reason, it is important for researchers in education to examine in depth about how student motivation is in online learning, especially when learning activities carried out during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This study was done with an aim to provide a description objectively how the learning motivation of university students in online learning during the pandemic of Covid-19. Thus, this becomes evaluation material in creating effective online learning in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Also, this research can become material for study by other researchers related to student motivation in online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
