TOPIC: Winter clothing

Procedure

1. Working with test in order to give pupils more information about


the topic (5 minutes)
Give out worksheet with test. Explain them what they are supposed to
do. Pupils work individually. Go through in class and ask them to
guess about what the topic they are going to learn today might be.
2. Reading and discussion (15-20 minutes)
Give out wordlists. Let them read words and definitions. Start reading
the text. Ask pupils to read through and see
if their answers were right. They should discuss their findings in groups
of 3-4, then go through the answers with the class.
3. Work with pictures (15 minutes)
Give out pictures. Explain pupils the rules. Tell them that they should
paint certain clothes in a certain colour. Check their pictures.
5. Presentation (5 minutes)
Get each group to present a short summary of their knowledge to
the class.
6. Home task.
Give out home task: to write a story for 100-120 words about
pupils’ favourite winter clothes using active vocabulary.

Clothing in winter
When the weather becomes colder, at first in autumn and then
in winter, people get dressed warmer. They change light
summer clothing for warmer one.

Girls usually put on shirts with long sleeves, skirts and dresses
made of woolen fabrics. They wear tights and shoes with thick
soles.

Nowadays there are various articles of clothes that both boys


and girls wear willingly. They are jeans, sweaters, pullovers,
jackets, overcoats, high boots. These articles of clothes are of
the same style for girls as well as for boys, but differ in colors
and trimmings.
