Mission Statement:

For over ten years, our community of leaders and volunteers has been dedicated to connecting
Los Angeles residents with people suffering from the homelessness crisis. Our efforts sustained
and growing efforts have helped to serve Los Angeles better.

Purpose:

Since we started bringing people together, preparing meals, and serving the homeless population
in Skid Row in 200, we have believed that there is an urgency to bring back dignity to our
community. By acknowledging and supporting the people who are suffering from the homeless
crisis and the residents who can be part of the solution by exercising compassion and solidarity.
Since then, we delivered over 500,000 meals by being present in Skid Row, with 20,000
volunteers who provided more than 75,000

Part ll
The reason why I chose this non-profit organization is because they help me learn the importance
of what it is to provide others with help. The Shower of Hope helped me learn that many people
take the little things in life for granted, like a shower. For many people in the world, taking a
shower is a luxury. Not for the case of the Shower of Hope they provide essentials and necessity
for everyone to take a shower. This organization can help our communities by keeping the
homeless hygienic and helping the homeless from diseases, sickness and infections that come
from not keeping up with your hygiene. I envision my role to help manage clean and tidy
showers for people in need to use. This organization would help in leadership because of the
experience that I have from volunteering and the need for training new volunteers.
