BETWEEN DEVELOPMENT, DETERIORATION OR PROTECTION

Have you notice the change?

The world is not round but it is no longer complete
You are not a criminal but you are gradually killing it
You are a human but you cannot perform the duty and responsibility affiliated with it

You chose to criticize and whine as you complain instead of taking the initiative
Blamed the government for its deficiency
But before that, ask yourself first
Who prioritizes gadget usage until the day is over
Who cannot wake early and even plant something around
What is your stand and contribution in saving our environment?

As the modern era is rising, towering infrastructures are also dominating

As progress and development were encouraged and improved, sense of discipline was kept and left behind
As we aim for the upliftment, the “yesterday” were forgotten
Where environment was prioritized, well- cared, and used correctly

It is a sad picture to glimpse,

That the destruction of our environment is the exchange for the development and modernization that we
are prospering at this time
Our environment is crying for help, weeping for its sufferings
Yet human does not care and continuously abuse the surrounding

It is a sad image to see

That our blue seas were fishes are swimming, are now being swam by plastics
That our forests and mountains full of trees were being destroyed for the purpose of development
That our land where seeds are planted, now, garbage were buried

Is it true that for every development, environment was always put at stake?
If that’s the case, I do not want to experience that so- called development
I am not stupid to sacrifice the eternal happiness in exchange for the destruction of our environment
Just to be classified as a nation where prosperity is evident

You do not have the rights to cry and complain for everything that the world is throwing unto you
Why? Have you listened to its grievances?
Nature is now aggressive, as an exchange for our negligence
Climate change, typhoons and other destructible phenomena
Still, there is no trace of fears drawn in your face
Continued being undisciplined, even though danger is the prize of wrong doings

It is funny to think that you cannot do even simple things that will benefit our environment
Putting interests first on romantic relations, continuously begging for attention
I will not hinder you if your tears of pain will form a lake
Please, choose yourself and our environment that does not feel tired despite of hardships

How ironic that you call out everyone on social media

Shouting advocacies, sharing ways on how to contribute to save the environment
But in reality, you do not practice what you preached
You don’t do anything; you do not walk the talk

You choose: nation or self; nature or fame

Open your eyes to see what is really happening and how our nature is suffering
The world is not deaf for you be listened
On everything you observed as well as your plans to seek redress just to save the Motherland

Weakness and lack of self- reliance are not the right reasons for you to not make a move
Being responsible and listening to everyone’s suggestions are enough
Promote planting, proper disposal of wastes must be advocated
Most importantly, everything is possible as we aim for nature’s beautification
If everyone must do their part in fulfilling the responsibilities as the environment’s custodian

Open your eyes, lend an ear

This is not the right time for you to rest and do nothing
If you want to breathe a fresh air, this is the time for you to value and make a stand for the sake of our
nature
Make a move, this is not the end
Begin now, restore the mesmerizing beauty of our environment
