Coleman Beckley, being duly sworn upon his oath, says that:

I am a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the 60th Judicial Circuit, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana,

and make this affidavit after reviewing police reports from the Mishawaka Police Department.

That there is probable cause to believe that DERRICK A PRATCHER has committed the crime(s) of
Count 1: Battery Resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury, a Level 6 Felony.
That on or about March 4, 2023, police arrived at Justin Motors, a car dealership located at 4214

Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka, IN 46544. There they made contact with Thomas Gajda, who advised that
he was assaulted by a male he knew to be DERRICK PRATCHER. Medics who had also responded

advised police that Thomas' nose looked broken and that he had been bleeding. Thomas advised police
that PRATCHER and his mother Cathy had been at the business earlier in the day and hand applied for a

loan to purchase a Jeep from the dealership. PRATCHER came back later in the day when the business
was closed. Thomas went to the front door to inform PRATCHER that they were closed after attempting
to make himself heard from inside the business. After opening the door, PRATCHER struck Thomas in

the face, causing the injuries described by medics. On March 7, 2023, detectives conducted a photo array

and Thomas again identified PRATCHER as the person who hit him. Thomas also knew who had hit him
because he had PRATCHER's information from the prior car loan application, and had recognized him

from earlier. All of the above-described events took place in St. Joseph County, Indiana.
